We conduct a comprehensive safety review of your home. We look at fall risks, bathroom and stair safety, lighting, accessibility, and overall property condition. Dignity in Place then prepares a clear, written plan outlining recommended improvements to help keep your home safe and comfortable.
Based on your needs, we develop a structured plan that addresses safety upgrades, maintenance schedules, financial considerations, and long-term oversight. Our goal is to make sure your home supports you — not the other way around.
If additional income would make aging in place more secure, we can help rent out your basement or unused space responsibly. Dignity in Place handles the entire process, including screening tenants carefully, checking references, preparing lease documents, and helping tenants move in smoothly. We make sure the arrangement is safe, organized, and respectful of your home.
Once everything is in place, we continue to manage and oversee the property. This includes coordinating maintenance, arranging snow removal and grass cutting, monitoring tenant responsibilities, collecting rent, and ensuring the property remains well cared for year-round. You do not have to manage contractors or tenant calls — we take care of it.
If tenant concerns arise, Dignity in Place manages communication and coordinates the appropriate process in accordance with Ontario regulations. If eviction becomes necessary, we oversee and coordinate the process from start to finish, always protecting your interests and minimizing stress.
Aging in place is not a one-time decision. We continue regular check-ins and property oversight to ensure your home remains safe, financially stable, and aligned with your changing needs. If adjustments are required, we update the plan accordingly.
